The Silent Sea Season 1 Episode 7 Review

This last but one episode of the silent sea which is episode 7 has been epic. The suspense, the clueless moment and captivating scenes is just fulfilling. A lot had happened at the Balhae station, a lot is going on and we should expect more from that facility.

The Silent Sea Episode 7 Review

Episode 7 of the silent sea opens with Director Choi in her usual office, enjoying some classical tunes. She checks out a photo of her and a young girl whom we know is Song Wonkyung. We see Mr. Kim checks on a young girl in a hospital bed.

Meanwhile, Jian puts Luna to sleep and finds the missing data files she’s been looking for, Specifically, files referencing a Water Response Test. Through flashbacks, these tests show the Lunar Water reacting with a fish and filling a fish-tank. This is absolutely the salvation Earth needs but Taesuk could well disrupt everything.

Dr. Hong alerts the team about the missing water samples they had earlier picked up from the level 1 area and E2’s dead body. She burst into tears as she can not believe all that is happening around her. Losing members each day is uncontrollably disheartening.  Ryu Taesuk approaches Kim Sun with a gun. He tells Kim Sun to turn around so he can remove his earpiece — he then shoots his leg and asks where Song Jian is. Kim Sun manages to get up and fight Ryu Taesuk.

Ryu locates Kim sun in the lab, he points the gun at Kim sun in an attempt to scare him. It is not clearly who Kim sun is working for but definitely a cooperate body on earth. He was asked earlier to fetch the samples and eliminate all obstacles. He shoots Kim sun in the leg, but Kim sun urges Ryu Taesuk to stop all that so they can go home. At some point they end up struggling and the obvious scene happens when Kim sun is shot dead.

Anyway, they worked on a number of different “Luna” subjects, all the way through to 73, which is the one we’ve seen who has survived. It’s a tough pill to swallow for Jian, especially knowing that Won-Kyung was front and center of this horror show. I’m guessing they also experimented with the superhuman strength and agility too, but it’s not particularly clear if I’m honest.

While Taesuk is busy with the filtrations, Captain Han and Dr Hong sneak down from the vents. They notice Heesun dead and quickly power up the console, opening every single gate. That also allows Soohyuk to head over to Luna’s cabin, intent on killing her. Jian stops this though, shielding her from a potential bullet, and joining her as they’re taken to Han – alive.

The Silent Sea Season 1 Episode 7 Review

Ryu Taesuk tries activating the air purification systems, but there’s an anomaly. That anomaly is the secret storage area that is entirely underwater due to the multiplication in episode 5 – he overrides it, which initiates too much pressure in the systems, which becomes a problem later. Meanwhile, Doc Hong and Han Yunjae find Kim Sun dead after the water killed him. But there’s no time to absorb the moment, and he immediately deactivates the gate closures before reminding a sobbing Doc Hong that they have to go.
